Meet Christopher Thrasher

Christopher Thrasher is an attorney, public policy advocate, small business owner, and dedicated Westport resident with a strong commitment to improving the South Coast.

As a member of the Westport School Committee and Westport Finance Committee, Christopher is deeply involved in addressing the issues that affect the cities and towns of the 8th district, and communities all across the Commonwealth.

Thrasher’s decision to run for State Representative stems from his growing concern over the impact of state-level decisions on local communities. He believes in advocating for real solutions and fighting against policies that burden local governments with unfunded mandates.

Christopher’s roots in Massachusetts run deep. A graduate of UMass Dartmouth and UMass School of Law, he has spent his career advocating for fair and effective policies that benefit all residents of the Commonwealth.

His experience as a small business owner and legal professional has given him firsthand knowledge of the challenges that families, seniors, and entrepreneurs face in today’s economy.

Thrasher’s platform focuses on reforming outdated funding formulas, protecting the South Coast from the harmful impacts of offshore wind development, improving senior housing security, and making Massachusetts a more small-business-friendly state.

Christopher lives in Westport with his better half, Arianna, and their infant daughter. He is committed to making the 8th Bristol District a place where families can grow, businesses can thrive, and communities can prosper- and to ensuring that the voices of Acushnet, Fall River, Freetown, New Bedford, and Westport are heard loud and clear on Beacon Hill.

A Voice for the 8th Bristol District

working for Our Cities and Towns.

“I am running for State Representative to ensure that the people of the 8th Bristol District have a voice that will be heard in the Statehouse. I’ve seen firsthand how state-level decisions impacts our local communities, often in ways that place unnecessary burdens on our cities and towns. That is why I am committed to putting the needs of Acushnet, Fall River, Freetown, New Bedford, and Westport front and center.

I have spent my career advocating for common-sense solutions to complex problems, and I know how to build coalitions that get things done. From reforming archaic funding formulas to standing up to the offshore wind industry, I am ready to fight for the South Coast and bring real results home to our communities. Our seniors deserve housing security, our young families deserve affordable living, and our small businesses deserve a fair shot at success.

This campaign is about making sure that every one of our communities is represented in the General Court, and I look forward to working with all of you to create a better future for the South Coast.”
